چکیده

In this paper, a novel energy storage technology of gravity-enhanced compressed air system is proposed for the first time, aiming to support rapid growth solar and wind capacity. With formed by shaft well, gravity piston, seal membrane, could achieve constant operating pressure, high efficiency, large Electricity charged into simultaneously transformed stored in thermal, pressure potential, gravitational potential forms. The properties are simulated analyzed with commercial software Thermoflex V29. Results show that both well radius have essential influences on performance newly system. theoretical efficiency scope 63.58%–65.50% range 40–100 bar. Economic analysis based time-of-use price policy China suggests optimum levelized cost (LCOS) happens at 70 bar 8 m. Besides, considering different plant factors reflect total investment power plant, LCOS 1.09–1.26 CNY/kWh. Moreover, specific exergy discharged electricity assessed be 0.51 CNY/kWh or so, which significantly more profitable compared given 1.15 off-peak.

Dynamic Modelling of a Compressed Air Energy Storage System in a Grid Connected Photovoltaic Plant

The use of photovoltaic (PV) cells in domestic and industrial applications has grown rapidly through the recent years. Constructing PV plants is a very smart measure to produce free electricity in large scales, especially in the countries with higher solar irradiation potential. On the other hand, compressed air energy storage (CAES) has already been proposed to be employed for energy storage a...

Thermodynamic Analysis of Three Compressed Air Energy Storage Systems: Conventional, Adiabatic, and Hydrogen-Fueled

We present analyses of three families of compressed air energy storage (CAES) systems: conventional CAES, in which the heat released during air compression is not stored and natural gas is combusted to provide heat during discharge; adiabatic CAES, in which the compression heat is stored; and CAES in which the compression heat is used to assist water electrolysis for hydrogen storage. The latte...

Novel concepts of compressed air energy storage and thermo-electric energy storage

The interest in energy storage is currently increasing, especially from the perspectives of matching intermittent sources of renewable energy with customer demand and storing excess nuclear or thermal power during the daily cycle. Technologies to be considered for load leveling for large-scale energy systems, typically in the range of hours to days of discharge time, include pumped-storage hydr...
